A simple review journal for your Straddle EA demo

A short review journal can make a Straddle EA demonstration more useful. It gives each observation a date, a configuration and a clear status. The goal is to avoid relying on memory or treating a single selected example as a complete assessment.

Create a repeatable record

Use one entry for each session or test. Start with the product edition, build, account type and settings. Add the purpose of the session so that its result can be assessed against the original question. Keep factual observations separate from your interpretation.

  • Record the date and the question being investigated.
  • Attach the parameter file and relevant logs if available.
  • Label the environment as historical test, demo or live evidence.

Record exceptions as well as ordinary behaviour

A journal is especially useful when something does not happen as expected. Note what you expected, what actually appeared and which evidence you preserved. Avoid filling gaps with an assumed explanation. Turn unresolved observations into a short question for support.

  • Capture rejected or cancelled requests.
  • Note disconnections and changes made during the session.
  • Keep the original record when an explanation is later added.

Keep the evidence easy to find

Name files consistently and remove personal account details before sharing examples. Store sensitive records privately. If a result is discussed without its underlying settings or dates, mark it as incomplete rather than comparable with a fully documented run.

  • Use an entry identifier to link notes, screenshots and reports.
  • Redact account identifiers before sending a support example.
  • Never include passwords, access tokens or remote-access codes.

End with a decision log

Write down which questions were answered, which need another demonstration and which remain outside the evidence available. This helps prevent confidence from growing simply because the same claim has been repeated. Treat your journal as documentation, not a formula for predicting a trading result.

Risk and evidence
