A Gold or XAU/USD EA demonstration should begin with the exact instrument and software being shown. Do not infer that an EA supports an instrument simply because a trading page mentions it. Use this checklist to separate documented compatibility from assumptions and marketing language.
Identify the instrument and build
Ask for the complete symbol name in the demonstrated account, the EA version and the applicable documentation. Request confirmation that the product supports that combination. Record any suffix, account mode or configuration requirement. If the presenter switches between instruments or software builds, give each example a separate entry in your notes.
- Ask which exact EA edition is being demonstrated.
- Request the compatibility requirements in writing.
- Do not transfer evidence from another product or instrument.
Inspect the account specifications
Ask the presenter to show the relevant instrument specifications and explain which ones the software uses. Keep the explanation descriptive rather than turning it into a suggested trade size. MetaTrader testing settings allow the instrument and account assumptions to be configured; a test should preserve those assumptions with its report.
- Record the account and symbol settings used in the test.
- Ask which charges and execution assumptions were included.
- Ask whether the demonstrated configuration differs from the supplied defaults.

Ask about difficult operating conditions
A useful demonstration can include examples of rejected requests, changing spreads, restarts and incomplete data. Ask what the software actually does in each case and which behaviours were tested. Do not infer a protective feature from a generic discussion of automation. Preserve logs for questions the presenter cannot resolve during the session.
- Ask how the user notices a failed request.
- Ask what must be checked after a terminal restart.
- Keep unanswered questions visible before considering a live environment.
Keep the conclusion within the evidence
Finish with a list of verified compatibility facts and remaining questions. A demonstration does not predict the next gold price move or establish that a strategy suits a particular person. Treat forecasts, selected screenshots and a product name as different kinds of information, and request the evidence needed for each claim.
Risk and evidence
